Heading To Toronto? Chalk Up Yet Another Loss

8 April 1997. Toronto Raptors 100, Washington Bullets 94 (record: 39-37)
Game leaders: Webber, Cheaney (21 points), Howard, Webber, Muresan (7 rebounds), Strickland (11 assists)0 for Toronto. The Bullets struggle north of the border. They're 1-1 against Vancouver on the road, and they are now 0-4 against Toronto in the regular season. The Bullets were outhustled up and down the court, as Toronto's 30 to 13 point advantage in transition points shows.
Even with 33 team assists (led by Strickland's 11, Webber's 9, and Howard's 8), the Bullets came up on the short-end. They had good ball movement, assisting on 33 of their 39 made shots, but they couldn't come up with the points when needed.
Looking At The Home Stretch The Bullets are tied with Cleveland for the eighth playoff spot, with Indiana 2 games behind. They must take advantage of the easy part of the schedule if they want that final playoff spot. Two key difference makers:
So, the Bullets now find themselves back in a tie for the eighth spot for the playoffs. The seventh playoff spot is looking rather remote. Time to pass muster, guys.

- In the last 6 minutes of the third quarter, the Bullets scored only 1 field goal and missed 6 of 8 free throw attempts. They were behind by 12 points after 3 quarters and never got close again.
