Bullets Take It To The Youngsters Of Minnesota

25 November 1996. Washington Bullets 105, Minnesota Timberwolves 98 (record: 7-6)
Game leaders: Howard (24 points), Webber (15 rebounds), Strickland (10 assists)

With this win, the Bullets make it their first 3-game winning streak of the season and also go over .500 for the first time since the 3rd game of the season. This game was very similar to the Philly game on Friday, but the Bullets finished off the Wolves in fine fashion, as Juwan continues to get his game back.

Tim Legler Is Close To Ready
It still isn't easy for Tim Legler, but he's getting closer to being ready for his January return.
Nobody says this game was easy. The Bullets built another large, 20+ point lead in this game, only to watch it wither away in the 4th quarter. In this case, the Bullets allowed the Timberwolves to get within 5 points twice late in the 4th quarter before putting the game away. The Bullets scored all of 6 points in the first 8-1/2 minutes of the game because of a pressuring Wolves defense that didn't give anything away.

It was good to see Googs back in the arena where his career got its start, and this year Googs is putting up some serious All Star-type numbers. Tonight was no exception. Let's hope he keeps up this great effort.

One future star who didn't do quite as well for the Wolves was Kevin Garnett. In fact, he was quoted after the game calling Chris Webber "one of the best defenders in the league." I laughed when I saw that. CWebb can block a mean shot, and he's athletic and long away from the basket, but he gives too much away in the post. Maybe Chris will grow into that moniker eventually. Let's hope so.
