Just a quick update on the Juwan Howard/DUI incident, courtesy of the Bill Miller of the Washington Post. Juwan had his initial court date moved up from Friday to Tuesday because the Bullets will be in Toronto on Thursday night.
Juwan elected to submit a not guilty plea at the time and defend against the charge in court. However, he is not locked into that method. He may still elect to enter a court-sponsored driver safety education program that is available for first-time DUI offenders. He still hasn't made up his mind on that route.
Howard remains free on his personal recognizance, which isn't atypical in cases like this. He's just a little too high profile to be expected to bail out on the court case. The article did not say when the next court appearance is to be. So, the best bet is, stay tuned.
