Gheorghe Muresan has begun the final steps toward getting to play during the regular season. On Monday November 4, Muresan practiced about 15 to 20 minutes with the team. Then, on Tuesday, he practiced for almost 50 minutes.
Why has this taken so long? The hip flexor is a very necessary to running or walking. According to trainer Kevin Johnson: "Every time you take a step, you use [it]." If you kneel down on one knee and straighten your back, the muscle you feel stretching is the hip flexor. Now, imagine trying to run with that being sore.
Looking back on the past 5 games, it's looking more and more like the Bullets really need Muresan to set their post offense. Webber and Howard are fine post players, but they're trying too hard. Muresan forces other teams to be honest in their double teams; if they don't Muresan can and will burn you with his turnarounds. He won't be back too soon for me.
