Grizzlies In Hibernation As CWebb Rips Things Up

12 March 1997. Washington Bullets 104, Vancouver Grizzlies 82 (record: 29-33)
Game leaders: Webber (32 points), Webber (10 rebounds), Strickland (6 assists)It was payback time for the Grizzlies. The Bullets were embarassed on their December roadtrip by losing to the Grizzlies, and they were going to have none of that tonight. Plus, CWebb was back in uniform, rested and ready to play.
The Grizzlies had no chance.
CWebb only played for three quarters, but it was enough to collect 32 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. He was a man among boys.
Except for Vancouver's Shareef Abdur-Raheem. Wow, after watching him, he's mightily impressive. Yeah, he made his share of mistakes, but he had a couple of monstrous dunks (one over Gheorghe) and showed a lot of skill for a 20 year-old rookie. This guy is probably the best rookie in the league this year. Washington Post sports reporter J.A. Adande gives you an idea of who Abdur-Raheem is.
Juwan Howard had a quiet game, only scoring 7 points. A no-name forward named Aaron Williams did a very good job guarding and frustrating Howard into 3 of 9 shooting. But Muresan (12 points), Strickland (13 points), Cheaney (11 points), and Murray (14 points) all provided enough offense and defensive pressure to keep the Grizzlies put away.
Next up for the Bullets is the Milwaukee Bucks, who are sliding away from the playoffs even faster than the Bullets, having lost 9 of their last 10 games.
